Our hospitality

At 3 kilometres from PIAZZA DEL CAMPO (the famous Campo square) a cypress lane leads you up to the ancient "CASTELLO DI PUGNA" (dating back to the year 1100), on a gentle hill in front of Siena, in a wonderful position from which, in summer, you can enjoy the sunset over the city, between the Duomo and the Torre del Mangia.
The name “Val di Pugna” (Pugna Valley) recalls battles fought here. Just think about the fight between the legions of Mario and Pompeo and the battle of Monteaperti between senesi and Florentines in the year 1259, when the old Castle, where today we find the historical wine cellar, was on fire and destroyed.
Vineyards and olive groves surround the real heart of the estate: the wine cellar dug into the tuff, the Villa of Count and the comfortable barns, typical examples of old Tuscan rural buildings, elegantly reorganized.
In the building dating back to the XII century (Roman Castrum), outpost of the sienese troops for the defence of Siena, you can find VILLA CAMBI, a Residenza d'Epoca with three elegantly redecorated rooms.
